November is upon us and along with it comes some upcoming holiday travels. Here in Brevard County, we are so lucky to experience warmer temperatures while many of our fellow Americans up north suffer through bitterly cold winters. While much of the country will be experiencing their first snowfall of the year soon, we have the privilege of soaking up some sun rays. And although we don’t exactly get to experience all 4 seasons, it is still important to prepare your car for some cooler days to come.
With the holiday season quickly approaching us, it is important to make sure your car is not only ready to hit the road but can also brave some cooler weather. Many people will be traveling by car to and from holiday gatherings, vacations, and other fun outings. Many will be visiting family and or friends in colder parts of our country. We Floridians might not think or know how to prepare our cars for that sort of climate, but you are in luck. - Put together a winter basket that has coats, blankets, scarves, mittens and other warm things. This is in case your car has trouble and you are stuck somewhere cold for a while.
- Have a small bucket of salt somewhere in your car. Salt will help with melting any ice near your car.
- Have an emergency snack bag with things that won’t expire. Stow it away somewhere in your car. Again, this is in case you get stuck somewhere.
- Don’t forget to always pack some water.
