We also want to make sure you are entertained while you are stuck in the car on your journey. So, this week we have put together a couple of entertainment ideas for your summer road trip/journey! Create the perfect playlist
Road tunes make a trip go by so much more quickly. Save your riders from extreme boredom by creating a killer playlist. Include all types of genres so that you can match all of the up and down moods that come along your way throughout the car ride. Before you hit the road ask your passengers for 5 of their favorite songs. This will make them they feel like they are also involved in the process and will know that at least 5 songs that they like! Sing-a-longs are a road trip must!
Bring cards
A lot of people forget about cards but they are so versatile. There are so many games to be played with a deck of cards. The kids can entertain themselves and you can sit back and relax. Not only are there a million and one card games, but there are also a million and one card tricks to keep them busy.
Have snacks
Make sure that you bring something to snack on. Snacks give you something to do and can also lift your mood! Snacks are a must have for your road trip.
Don’t forget about podcasts
In a previous blog, we talked about audiobooks and how to pick them. Well, if you or your riders can’t stick with something as long as a book but still want to listen to stories, maybe consider finding a couple of podcasts to listen to. You can surely find some when you browse on iTunes and Spotify! Just like books, there are all types of podcasts. There are comedy, mystery, drama, folklore and more. There are also podcasts that you can listen to in a series. So, we recommend giving them a try for entertainment.
Load the tablets with educational games
We know that most kids these days would prefer to spend their time with some sort of screen in front of them at all times. So, if they must bring their tablets or electronic devices along, make sure that they are loaded up with educational games, books and more. There won’t be Wi-Fi so make sure that you download all you can before leaving a Wi-Fi zone. If they must use a screen, why not make it educational?
